Established in 2004, NewPlays.org.uk showcases the best new plays, playwrights, theatre companies and writing festivals. Our Directory spotlights a broad mix of UK and World drama for a wider audience. Recommendations are always welcomed for plays, writers, theatre companies, plus playwriting festivals, to feature on this website.

Following a successful launch, NewPlays.org.uk is now Number One for New Plays in Google. Our growing popularity means that we constantly attract over 20,000 hits every month and we have also gained an increasing international presence.

The BBC have highlighted NewPlays.org.uk on air and online. In connection with Voices, their national language campaign, the BBC have linked to us several times. A BBC Radio interview, focusing on NewPlays.org.uk, has been broadcast worldwide on the Internet.

The positive response to us, both online and in the media, has resulted in Playbill Online, the World's most popular theatrical website, describing NewPlays.org.uk as "a quality, popular and easy-to-use site".

Regionally, NewPlays.org.uk has been championed by Arts Council England East and Creative Arts East's Literature Network.
